Madhuri Dixit - Why Do We Miss Her?
One of the best dancers in the world of Indian cinema has been undoubtedly the only one – Madhuri Dixit. Her Ek Do Teen number in Tezaab as like the counting of the successes from there on. It is almost impossible to find a choreographer or a director who has not praised the sheer talent Madhuri possesses. Unfortunately, the audience of the Indian cinema now misses her performances.
It is not that Madhuri has been the only good dancer in Bollywood. Vaijyanti Mala, Helen, Hema Malini, Rekha and so many more from the very old days to till date, have enthralled the audiences with their dance numbers. But when Madhuri came on the scene, the Indian people simply fell in love with her instantly. Beta, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak and others proved that she was one of the best dancers Bollywood had ever seen. The amazing dance numbers in Hum Apke Hain Kaun made the people want even more of her. Finally in Devdas, as if her effortless movements broke all barriers!
The reasons everyone is enthralled by Madhuri is because her dancing is natural. Her actions and movements are like perfect. Her steps define the way dance steps should be. Her facial expressions are such a beauty to watch. Needless to say, the Indian cinema is missing her youthful dance.
Madhuri was also in the news because of MF Hussain, often called as Madhuri Fida Hussain, who was obsessed by her beauty. Well, he is not to blame. Thousands of Indians are also obsessed with her the same way!
Madhuri Dixit is now settled happily married in the US and has two kids. She did try make a come back with a dance based movie recently, but it did not seem to have the same magical effect. Did the audience not connect with her again because Madhuri looked a bit older after having giving birth to two kids or was it the fact that she left India and settled far away in the United States? The real reason may not be known. It does not mean that if Madhuri does another movie, she would be let down again. The real fans of Madhuri would want her back but they all know that dancing is one thing that can feel the difference that comes from being older!
The contribution of Madhuri to the Indian cinema is indelible. She is often cited as the standard that the new comers should try to be.
