Amitabh Bachchan is in yet another memorable role in the movie Paa. He is Amitabh but not so Amitabh too! You can hardly recognize him in the movie.
The Movie Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of Auro, a 13 year old who has a genetic disorder that causes his body to grow older faster than his real age. In the movie Paa, Abhishek Bachchan is playing the role of the father of Auro. He is also an astute politician who is engrossed in political rivalries but still the movie has a great father and son story. Well, it is much more than that!
Paa unfolds from the start in an interesting way. It keeps you riveted for most part of the movie. It is funny as well as full of emotions. If you are the one who does not cry in the movies, you might want to try Paa for a test of your handling of your emotions. The good part is the movie is not just about crying or avoiding crying – there are lots of fun moments too which make you laugh and smile all along.
A movie becomes worth watching by not just a great story but also by the acting of the actors, the makeups, the music compositions, editing, dialog and so much more. You would be happy to know that Paa excels in almost all these aspects. Who ever doubted the caliber of Amitabh Bachchan can be proven wrong once again in Paa. The accomplished actor is in a surprisingly new role and acting as the son of his own real life son! The make up artists have done an amazing job. Abhishek Bachchan was heard in one of his promos for the movies that when he first saw Amitabh in the makeup of Auro, he totally ignored him as he did not realize the person was none other than his own father!
We give this movie four stars and a half. We would not call Paa the perfect movie to deserve the five star rating, but is pretty close. Kudos to the new thinkers in Bollywood who came up with this amazing concept and performance.
